Welcome to the Descendents Wiki!

The Descendents are a punk rock band formed in 1978 in Manhattan Beach, California by guitarist Frank Navetta, bassist Tony Lombardo and drummer Bill Stevenson. In 1980 they enlisted Stevenson's friend Milo Aukerman from school as a singer, and reappeared as a punk band, becoming a major player in the hardcore scene developing in Los Angeles at the time. They have released six studio albums, three live albums, three compilation albums, and three EPs.

Since 1987, the band's lineup has consisted of singer Milo Aukerman, guitarist Stephen Egerton, bassist Karl Alvarez, and drummer Bill Stevenson.

02 Nov, 2008 - RIP Frank Navetta

Frank Navetta, founding member and guitarist for the Descendents, fell ill over the past few days and passed away on October 31, 2008. Besides naming the band, Frank wrote a ton of great songs and was a great friend. He will be truly missed.

We don't have any information about funeral or memorial services at the moment. We'll pass along information for any public services when we find out.

Go give Milo Goes To College or Bonus Fat a spin in Frank's honor.

08 June, 2006 - Vans, eBay, And New Merch

I posted this as a bulletin, but I don't like repeating myself, so I'll paste it in here.

I put more stuff up at www.descendentsonline.com/merch

There are "really awesome" 'Merican stickers, Cool To Be You on vinyl (yes, like records - yes, like your dad used to listen to...), and pretty soon, we'll put the shoes up, as soon as we get them in the building, anyway.

Of course, there's still all the new girl's stuff, as well as the Youth Medium and Youth Large "I Don't Want To Grow Up" t-shirts that I found in a box out in the shed.

To answer some of the questions I've been getting, yes, we will ship the shoes to Western Europe and Australia. Unfortunately, we'll have to charge extra for the shipping, but we are planning to ship them over there.

We've also got a couple of things up on ebay. I might put some of Bill's drumsticks up there later today. I tried to put his dog on ebay this morning, but he caught me and hit me in the head with a "ProMark 747 Super Rock."

The new Descendents Vans are featured on the Vans.com site.
