Jun-25-2009 - Wiggling to get those!/2

Asian Man Records is getting down to it: some days ago it released The Brain That Wouldn't Die, and Invasion U.S.A. will be available July 14th! The Brain That Wouldn't Die is the live version of the famous My Brain Hurts: Ben Weasel and Danny Vapid got together again and recorded this album live at Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago, August 22nd and 23rd 2008 (this is not an ad, but I find this record beautiful). The Brain That Wouldn't Die is available on clear yellow and clear red vinyl. But this is not the only thing Ben Weasel has been doing lately: Invasion U.S.A - a brand new Riverdales' full lenght! - will be available July 14th. Since "Invasion" will come out the Independance Day, Asian Man Records will press it on blue, red and white - the American flag, remember?. Scared you won't be fast enough to get all three colors? Don't panic! You can get a cool "pre-order deal" straight from AMR: it includes three copies of the record (one per color), a digipak cd for "Invasion", a Riverdales t-shirt, three buttons (one blue, one red, one white) and a beer koozie! Cool, isn't it?

Jun-25-2009 - Wiggling to get those!/1

Yep, guess why I'm just Wiggling... Go give Recess Records website a look, and you'll see that the San Pedro-based label has struck again! Recess put out two Screeching Weasel records within 18 days: Boogadaboogadaboogada! on white (May 30th, 2009) and a brand new pressing of Wiggle (June 17th, 2009). First of all, Boogada was already repressed by Recess months ago: it's already come out on graysih swirl, pink and blue; now it's come out on white, limited to 500 copies again. But give Wiggle a check, the fifth SW album came out on Lookout! Records in 1993 and had never got repressed so far. Now Wiggle is available again with gatefold cover, repressed on clear, green, red and white (500 copies each). Screeching Weasel (S/T), Anthem For A New Tomorrow, How To Make Enemies And Irritate People and Kill The Musicians are also on the way to get repressed by Recess Records in upcoming months.

Feb-17-2009 - New Screeching Weasel stuff coming soon on Recess Records

Time to get excited: new stuff is coming for our ears and eyes' pleasure! Recess Records is going on re-releasing SW records. This is the scheduling:

  • April: Screeching Weasel (Yeah, the original LP!), Wiggle
  • May: Anthem For A New Tomorrow
  • July: How To Make Enemies And Irritate People
  • September: Kill The Musicians (2xLP)

Jan-07-2009 - New pressing of My Brain Hurts on Recess Records

After the Lookout! Records edition of My Brain Hurts has been out of print for years, it's now available the Recess Records repressing. This release comes on a new gatefold cover made by Cristy Road (it's a remake of the original artwork). Vinyl record has been pressed on four colors (each one limited to 500 copies): clear, orange, pink, white. Recess Records also repressed Boogadaboogadaboogada! some months ago (500 multi-colored, 500 pink, 500 blue), and other Screeching Weasel releases are going to be repressed in the next months.

Dec-17-2008 - My Brain Hurts... LIVE!

Yes, that's it. Asian Man Records will be putting out (presumably next May or June) a new release called The Brain That Wouldn't Die, a live version of the notable and timeless Screeching Weasel milestone My Brain Hurts. This is going to come out both on CD and vinyl. More info coming soon!
